Assist the SURF Manager by taking the role of HSE Lead Engineer in the Contractor engineering offices responsible for the HSE function during detailed engineering. Assist the Project HSE Manager (functional relationship) and act as his deputy in the performance of his duties in ensuring that Company HSE Policy and Objectives are incorporated in the management of the SURF activities

Key Requirements

Qualification:

Education to HNC level or above in an Engineering discipline or equivalent.

Professional Experience (number of years):

Minimum 15 years experience in a HSE role in the Oil and Gas Industry or fabrication yards, of which 7 years related to SURF engineering and construction.

Good mastering of English

Job Description

Main responsibilities:

1. As occasion demands, to deputise for the Project HSE Manager within the SURF Team

(e.g. during routine HSE meetings and monthly Project meeting), to provide key HSE data (e.g. accident & incident reporting) to Project HSE Manager on a regular basis and to follow-up on accident investigation.

2. To support the HSE activities performed by nominated SURF Engineering contractor, ensuring that project deliverables are available in a timely manner with quality and accuracy of prime importance. To report progress on deliverables etc. to the Project HSE Manager and Engineering/Project Manager.

3. To provide a HSE focal point to nominated SURF Engineering contractor and Project Discipline engineers with regard to HSE management system, technical safety and other queries. To perform the Inter Discipline Checks as Lead Safety Engineer.

4. To liaise with the HSE Manager in the interaction with FPSO, SPS (Subsea Production

Systems), MPP (Multi Phase Pump), OLS (Oil Loading System) and Wells (Drilling) teams to ensure that integration of information (in particular safety and environment) is addressed satisfactorily.

5. As the occasion requires, to perform and review necessary safety studies (e.g. FMECA/RAM) in support of engineering activities, and to participate in review /brainstorming meetings (e. g. HAZOP/HAZID).

6. To perform HSE audits at principal sub-contractors of the main contractor, or assist/witness the contractor HSE audits, as occasion demands and participate

7. To support the Work Package Manager in the HSE Supervision of the Contractor Fabrication & Installation team.
