Health & SafetyThis position will be instrumental in the administration and execution of our field HSE Process which will include SPCC plans, NORM surveys, spill investigations, safety audits/investigations, oversight of Behavior Base Safety Process, compliance training, compliance monitoring/reporting and due diligence activities. This position is located in the Utah field office and will directly report to the Rocky Mountain HSE/Regulatory Manager. Job DetailsLocation: United States Salary: On Application Working Locations: Site / Office Posted: 27 April 2011 at 13:00 (exp: 25/05/2011) Key Requirements· Proven ability to execute independent judgment and bring in-depth knowledge of OSHA , MMS, DOT and EPA rules/regulations. Knowledge of Federal, State and Local rules/regulations specific to Utah is a plus. Must be knowledgeable in upstream Exploration and Production (E&P) processes. · Ability to lead and positively motivate/influence others. · Organized and deadline focused with the capacity to plan, prioritize and complete multiple projects providing regular communication and updates to management. · Proven ability to effectively communicate/interact with a field oil and gas personnel and capacity to establish professional credibility with internal and external contacts including regulators and the public. · Energetic self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the flexibility of working extended hours as needed · Must be willing to relocate to the Uinta Basin area. · Prior management experience required. · Prior HSE auditing experience required. · Prior experience working in an E&P field environment preferred. · Bachelors Degree in a related field preferred (Environmental, Industrial Safety, Engineering). · Ten (10) years of experience in a similar position required. Job Description· Review, develop and effectively execute health, environmental and safety programs for the prevention and correction of unsafe working conditions for our field location(s). · All HSE initiatives should focus on eliminating or reducing injuries, illnesses, accident deaths, environmental damage and financial losses while complying with all regulations. · Educate and counsel all field staff on HSE initiatives to build best/consistent practices. · Collaborate with internal management and third party resources to evaluate and strategically focus our HSE efforts. · Oversees and conducts incident investigations. · Conduct regular audits to maintain accountability and to identify non-compliant areas. · Develops and presents recommendations and advises management to ensure balance between productivity and safety of team members, sub-contractors, visitors, and public. · Supports workers’ compensation interface. · Initiates and maintains HSE awareness programs. · Provides guidance to management through interpretation of HSE Practices and Procedures, legislation, and regulations. · Inspects, monitors, and evaluates HSE programs for added value and effectiveness. · Establishes specifications for HSE and fire protection equipment. · Train and motivate both contract and employee personnel in Newfield safety culture. · Represent Newfield in regards to HS&E initiatives/meetings with our outside contacts including regulatory/governmental agencies, associations, contract representatives, industry peers and the public. · Participate in due diligence or acquisition activities. · Provide accurate and timely data driven reports regarding our safety and environmental programs.
· Manage, mentor and develop direct reports. The current team
consists of two HSE Analyst and one HSE Technician. |
