For anyone interested in the "Health" part of Health & Safety
the Occupational Hygiene Training Association have established a
set of International Occupational Hygiene Modules that leads
to
the International Occupational Hygiene Certificate.
The subjects covered include:
- Basic Principles of Occupational Hygiene
- Measurement of Hazardous Substances (core)
- Assessment and Control of the Thermal Environment
- Assessment and Control of Noise (core)
- Assessment and Control of Asbestos
- Control of Hazardous Substances (core)
- Ergonomics
- Health Effects of Hazardous Substances (core)
To achieve the Certificate level qualification six modules
must be completed including all those marked "core" which are
mandatory. Each module course lasts one week.
The modules may also be taken separately which may be useful for
Safety Advisors requiring more detailed knowledge in one or two
particular areas.
