Original Post Afniza, yes it is perfectly possible. Your options are very wide. I'll be speaking from a UK perspective here, but these types of qualifications will be available from many countries around the world, and I know many Malaysian colleges partner European and American Universities to provide courses in Malaysia.

There are Master degrees in:

* Occupational Safety & Health Management
* Occupational Hygiene
* Occupational Health Nursing
* Environmental Management

There are vocational qualifications such as the NEBOSH IGC or the British Institute of Occupational Hygiene (BIOH) Cert Occ Hygiene. There is the NEBOSH Diploma as well. The Institute of Emvironmental Management & Assessment also provide vocational qualifications in Environmental Management.

The first thing to decide is what part of this huge subject you wish to focus on, then waht level of qualification, then what type of learning, full time, part time, distance leaning etc.

Someone having Ordinary Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning cannot , in clear terms, be called an Health and Safety Professional. At best you can be called someone interested in Health and Safety. In IOSH scheme you could be regarded as an Affiliate.You need to explore the options/suggestions proferred by Richard Brown. I can see you are Nigerian. If you need more information send me an email: iyenomaosazee@yahoo.com

Cheers and Good luck with your move to becoming a real professional.
