The Offshore HSSEQ Specialist is required to be a pro-active
contributor to the teams who manage and operate the offshore
assets by providing support, guidance, coaching and feedback to
the respective offshore and onshore crews through co-ordinating,
implementing and monitoring HSSEQ related activities, campaigns
and initiatives independent of line responsibilities for HSSEQ.

Key Requirements
• Possess safety coaching skills and understand when these should
be applied to improve performance
• Worked at operator and supervisor level for a minimum of one
year
• Worked continually in the offshore environment for at least a
one year period in the past three years
Job Description
• Provide Safety Coaching on a one-on-one / crew / asset basis as
identified and required
• Provide on-site pro-active safety advice to all levels of
personnel / contractors.
• Ensure effective, sustainable systems for compliance with
Corporate and / or company HSSEQ requirements are implemented and
adhered to.
• Promote continual improvement to existing processes and
practices by ensuring identified opportunities for HSSEQ
improvements are effectively implemented.
• Support and advise the offshore Teams regarding their line
responsibilities for HSSEQ.
• Provide support to (and conduct where instructed by line
management) Incident Investigations
• Assist with the development, communication and implementation
of management system procedures, HSSEQ initiatives and campaigns.
• Work with the onshore HSSEQ team and Offshore Occupational
Health Medics to ensure effective management and monitoring of
occupational health and safety.
• Lead, conduct and / or support as appropriate HSSEQ monitoring
activities including external / internal audits as required
offshore and onshore.
• Present ‘end-of-trip’ updates to onshore support functions to
enable progress against asset / department objectives to be
assessed and updated.
• Support, monitor and report asset efficiencies relevant to the
implementation of corrective / preventive actions resulting from
monitoring & auditing activities / incident investigations /
observations.
• Provide support to Offshore Safety Representatives to ensure
they meet their statutory obligations.
• Competent to lead and perform management system audits against
industry and company standards
• Possess demonstrable Management of Change skills and experience
within the offshore environment
• Must be self motivated and capable of organising and
prioritising own diverse daily work schedule
• Possess facilitation skills
• Experience with executing and supporting wider HSSEQ /
Operations programmes and initiatives
• Must have a good understanding of management systems, gained
either through use of HSSEQ, production operations or information
management
• Must have experience of developing and implementing HSSEQ
management systems
• Have demonstrable computer skills including generation of
spreadsheets, word processing and use of web based databases
• Possess a proven knowledge of appropriate HSSEQ legislation /
standards and have the ability to convert this to meaningful
guidance for a wider team
• Knowledge of process safety management
• Ability to identify and apply appropriate risk assessment
techniques to situations/problems
