Hi ALL,
About two years ago i have joined a local mining company
(phosphate firtilizers) as HSE Manager, after spending about 11
years in drilling. Mining is not my original background and i am
experiencing some difficulties. The mining company utilizes
pretty much standard package of HSE MS (old Soviet rules and
regulations, slightly changed to modern requirements). Apart from
handling compliance part of my job, i would like to put together
a good solid HSE Management System with everything: training,
auditing and etc. I am having dificulty in materials, regulations
and standards, sample documents in Mining. If you guys have any
knowledge in mining(surface, open pit) safety please give me some
hint where to get some usefull materials.
Regards

Adi - have you considered using the OHSAS18001 model. This follows
exactly the same format as ISO9001 (Quality Management) and
ISO14001 (Environmental Mangement) which brings advantages in
following similar management processes across a range of
disciplines.
Regards
Richard

Many thanks Richard,
Yes, i have reviwed OHSAS 18001 model, which helps, curently i am
looking for more of a technical documentation. Safe methods of
working with heavy trucks, tractors and buldosers etc. I am
curently working on a permit to work system for mining and
general safety matters, for this i am basically using the ones we
have used in Drilling, because of its simplicity and user
firendly.
