Hi,
Can anyone give me any information on how to get a foot in the door
and get started onshore or offshore. I have NEBOSH Gen Certificate,
Tech IOSH, and almost finished the NEBOSH Diploma and 6 years
experience. Any help gratefully accepted...

Post yourself on the "HSE People Available for Work" Forum on this

There are many recruitment agency personnel now joining this site,
check out what they are offering and talk to any that have oil
& gas jobs.

Don't be fussy, it is unlikely you will walk into a core crew
Safety Advisor job offshore at the beginning. Look out for
Turnaround or Shutdown safety advisor or a job with one of the
major engineering support companies. Consider an overseas posting,
anything to get some experience under your belt. Most of the time
it is about getting known, they work on the principle of "better
the devil you know ..."
Good luck ... if any of the above work, you owe me a beer
Regards
Richard

Hi,
My name is Pete Higgins and like Mark I have the same quals. I too
would like to break into the Oil and Gas sector. I come from a
strong engineering background having served in the Royal Electrical
and Mechanical Engineers (ARMY) for 22 years previously. My profile
is available on the website. I was recently working in
construction. I live near Grangemouth and Aberdeen is commutable.
