Hi there all,
I want to undertake the Nebosh National Diploma. Can anybody
recommend the best option to take, Distance or E-Learning as I work
full time. The course provider I am interested in is R.R.C.
Many Thanks,
Kai

Looks to be simply down to choice really. I would prefer distance
but it is subjective
Dont know anyone who used RRC but their website looks flashy
enough.
Why not try that limited free trial of e learning advertised on
their site and see if its suits with your other commitments
Have fun. Wish I could remember half the things that I was tought
but forgotten

Dont, I repeat don't use Sheilds - I have now done Assignment D,
which involves sending your completed assignment for discussion
etc. to the course provider. No negative comments received and
guess what - it failed - I couldn't believe it as I thought it a
quite decent bit of work? God knows what I paid them £3500
for?
Cheers

We have staff going through Strathclyde University's Post Graduate
Certificate in Safety and Risk Mangement distance learning.
Excellent support and guidance throughout.

I am doing my NVQ Level 4 through the British Safety Council, great
support and backup, they also do the NEBOSH, have a look at their
website.

Sheilds are currently advertising that course on another safety
site for £2295 with a further 20% off for buying on line !!!
That's one hell of a pricing difference to a previous post !

I am doing my Nebosh Diploma with Northumberland University
(Newcastle) by Distance Learning.
They use the RRC course notes and I have no complaints with the
course, the facilities at the University (which is modern - I
attend the distance learning days they have occassionally) and the
distance learning web site is good (and easy) to use.
Basically, with any 'distance' course you get the materials and
it's up to you to put in the time (your own time in evenings and
weekends) to do the study, take the papers they put on and mock
exams etc. If you don't pass the exams you only have yourself to
blame...
It is NOT an easy option, it takes hard work dedication to achieve
and lots and lots of time to study and revise...
Cost wise they were the least expensive for the level of course I
found. There are cheaper options (e.g. ACT) but I'm not sure that
the stuff they produce is as good - having had a chance previously
to look at some of their pod-casts... they simply sent me to
sleep... the course can be found on the University web site and the
guy to speak to is Mike Deary...
