One of my client is looking for a HSE Engineer to join thier office in Aberdeen. They are a well established and still growing drilling contractor. This is an office based position, however occasional visits offshore and abroad will be required.

Role and Responsibilities

Supporting our global operations in achieving the Company’s HSE goals and objectives, the HSE Engineer’s responsibilities will include:

Advising on and offshore line management on safety issues

Assisting in the development and maintenance of Safety Cases and supporting Formal Safety Assessments

Participation in hazard identification, risk assessment, SIMOPS, and bow-tie reviews

Supervision and quality control of specialist consultant activities
Development and implementation of relevant Safety and Risk Management Procedures

Auditing compliance with relevant Safety and Risk Management Procedures

Develop training to support Safety and Risk Management controls and initiatives

Assisting in the review of engineering modification requests

Providing safety support during projects and special periodic surveys

Development of HSE Programmes, Bridging Documents and Emergency Response Plans
Participation in incident investigations

Qualifications and Experience

B.Eng or B.Sc (e.g. engineering, safety and risk management) preferably but not essential.

With an operational, engineering or consultancy background, the successful candidate will have a relevant Degree and ideally around two years previous experience in the offshore oil and gas industry.
