by Dennis Kataraihya 7 months agowhat about if there is just a slight cut on the sling?should it immidiately be replaced?am talking about from an emergency point of view when the work needs to be done?

by Richard Brown 7 months ago"When the work needs to be done" does NOT EQUAL an emergency.
Once a sling is cut it no longer can be guaranteed to support the same weight therefore must be discarded.
As damage to slings is a predictable event sufficient spare slings should be kept available to avoid the need to use damaged slings. It is the job of the rigging supervisor to inspect and maintain all lifting equipment in good order and ensure there is sufficient equipment in the rigging loft to meet routine demands.
