A new website is set to change the way oil companies and agencies recruit employees. Launched to candidates at Offshore Europe and due to go live to recruiters soon, http://www.oilandgaspeople.com raises the bar to new levels with their bold and very unconventional recruitment model that is the cause of much concern to existing oil and gas job sites.

Designed from the very offset to offer a better solution for recruiters and candidates, www.oilandgaspeople.com will minimize a recruiter’s work load whilst speeding up the process of finding suitable candidates. No longer will recruiters need to advertise positions online, wait for candidates to respond and then have to spend days sorting through masses of CV’s often received. Oilandgaspeople will instantly match suitable candidates to positions uploaded by recruiters.

Candidate matches will be instant and very accurate, due to the vast amount of information held on each candidate. We can match candidates based on their experience, qualifications, training, location, personal requirements, visas held, salary expectations, previous companies worked for, job title, availability, project experience, industry experience and more… Recruiters can even prioritise each requirement to get supper accurate matches!

Candidates no longer have to continuously search job sites, they are safe in the knowledge that if a suitable position is posted that meets their requirements then they will be automatically put forward. Candidates will maintain complete control over their contact details by having to confirm their interest in each position, before the recruiter receives their contact details. This process means candidates no longer receive cold calls about irrelevant positions and recruiters can instantly find suitable candidates.

What makes oilandgaspeople.com really different is that the above process is completely free! Recruiters no longer have to pay thousands per year to access a data base of candidates, nor do they have to pay hundreds of pounds each time just to advertise a position. Oilandgaspeople.com will only ever charge a fee when a candidate is placed in a position or accepted for an interview.

Recruiters can confirm a candidate’s interest and carry out pre screening through the site before receiving their edited CV for FREE. If the candidate is accepted for the position then recruiters pay a small fee for that persons contact details at the final stage. For convenience candidates can also upload all their certification, qualifications and employment documents to their profile, these will automatically be sent to the recruiter once a match is confirmed.

Oilandgaspeople.com aims to go beyond the services of other job sites. Hi HSE People

The site has had another very successful week, with many jobs being posted and the new document library off to a great start. A lot of work has been going on behind the scenes in terms of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) It has took a lot of work but we are now fast moving up the major Search Engines Rankings.

The sites advertisers in the business directory will be delighted to know that the Recruiters page is now coming up as number 1 listing on Google.co.uk when searching for HSE Recruiters, The Trainers page is coming up number 5 when searching for HSE training providers and HSE Suppliers is number 4. On top of this other big search terms such as HSE Documents and HSE Jobs are working there way up, now appearing on the second and third pages.

It takes a lot of time and effort to receive top rankings and everyone using the site can help. Most Search Engines now rate sites by how many other links they can find on the net to that site. Any link counts and all I ask is that each one of our members mentions HSE People somewhere on the Net. It can be pretty much anywhere including your Twitter pages, Face Book, Bebo, LinkedIn, Company website, Forums, Blogs and News pages. Pretty much anywhere on the web counts. It’s easy to do and all you have to do is post our URL www.hsepeople.com. So give a little something back and help the site grow.

The Document Library is now live and lots of people have been downloading documents, however I have been disappointed by the amount of documents uploaded. If everyone on the site just uploaded one high quality document we would have a massive library in no time. It’s very easy to do and only takes a few seconds. Just go to the document library page where you will have to sign in again and then click upload a document. Take a few minutes to select the most relevant category, making sure your document contains no company logos or details enter a brief description of your document and hit upload. You document will now be available to any member of the site and you can also link to your document from any where on the net.

We have this week added a new page to the site called Global HSE Regulations. I have already added links to most UK and USA Regulations and I am keen to expand this to include many different countries. Only one problem I don’t have the experience to even know where to look for most countries so I’m putting a call out to out International members to point us in the right direction in terms of Regulations specific to your country. The HSE News page has also been updated this week and now includes feeds from the HSE, OSHA, The Unions, safetynews.co.uk and EPSC If you know any other useful HSE News sources again please let me know and I can very easily add them to the site.

Also wanted to mention another website which some of our members may find useful, www.safetyphoto.co.uk has a huge collection of safety photos and documents and could be very handy when putting together presentations etc. If you have any pictures you would like to share then drop them an email I have added some pictures this week.

CONGRATULATIONS HSE PEOPLE!!! 

We have reached over 1000 members. An amazing achievement in less than 2 months!

I have today made the much anticipated Document Library live on the site. This is a great new page that I am sure will benefit most of our members. You are able to upload, browse, search and download all sorts of HSE documents including:- Presentations, Procedures, Lessons Learned, Checklists, Toolbox Talks, Risk Assessments and almost any document relating to Safety.

The page has been designed to be very simple to use and you just need to sign in with your usual site login and password. On the first page you will find the categories and File list. You can browse by category or/and sub category or you can use the smart search feature to find files by keywords.  When you have found a file all you need to do is click it and it will start to download to your computer. By right clicking you can also copy the link and then paste links to individual documents in the forums etc

I would like to invite everyone with useful content to contribute it to the site. This will allow us to build up a huge data base of documents and next time you are starting a new job and looking for some information on it, the chances are you will find it on the site...

When uploading documents all we ask is that you take the time to chose the correct category and sub category and name the file appropriately as this will be the name that enables it to be searched.

Please only upload documents that you own or have permission to distribute and ensure that all company logos and details are removed.

Lets make this a great and useful feature of the site!

The new Business Directory has also gone live this week. For a small fee you can have your company listed in what is also proving a very popular page. The site is currently receiving over 500 hits and 6000 page views per day so this is a great way to gain exposure for your business. A whole year in the directory will cost you less than a single add in your local paper and is a great way of supporting the site.

Hi HSE People

We are now 3 weeks in and already have over 500 members. With new members signing up every day HSE People is growing at a fantastic rate. Already we are hearing success stories of people finding work through the site. With people from all backgrounds and disciplines, HSE People is fast becoming a very useful medium for networking and sharing information.

I hope to build on this with the addition of a lessons learned page and a page featuring new safety products available on the market. We very much would like to encourage our members to contribute to these pages especially the sharing of lessons learned from work place accidents and incidents. all contributions can be sent to kevin@oilandgaspeople.com 

With the addition of the jobs feed page you are now able to view live jobs on the site from all over the net. This along with the 20 agencies already posting to the site direct through the forums means you can find more HSE Jobs on HSE People, than on any other site on the net. With job listings being free of charge more agencies and recruiters are signing up all the time so keep looking back.

Future plans for the site include the addition of a file library where all members will be able to add search and download content. This will make the sharing of files, formats, procedures, presentations etc very easy. If everyone contributes we will be able to build up a huge library of HSE information.

On HSE People you are able to advertise your services and availability freely through your online profile and on the forums. All we ask in return is that you mention HSE People on your own websites, Blogs and social Network sites. Every link back to HSE People helps improve our rankings in the search engines, generating more traffic which equals more members which means more chances for everyone to network.

HSE People is a community site and anyone can post a blog to the site magazine. If you have an article you think may be of interest just go to create blog in the site control panel and then post blog to magazine. The site magazine should not be used for company advertising and the content should be information that is useful to other members.
