An independent Personal Protective Equipment consultant based in the NE Scotland. I have over 34 years experience working with PPE distributors and manufacturers. As an independent consultant part of my role is raising awareness of safety through site surveys with an external perspective.

A survey carried out across industry by BSIF demonstrated that at very best few safety officers, employee representatives or users of PPE know or understand the best ways to select PPE. It is equally clear that apart from specialist distributors of safety equipment and the manufacturers, many are confused regarding what the markings on products actually mean and how best to relate the "user information" supplied with the product to the task in hand.
