Candidate of the Week – Mark Dalton

Successful HSE professional with over 30 years of experience in Oil, Gas, Chemical, Power & Construction. Having worked on a wide range of multi-disciplined construction/maintenance and shutdown projects. Knowledge of the requirements and implementation of HSE Legislation including CDM regulations. Experience in the development, implementation and analysis of data relating to behavioural safety initiatives. Development of HSSE training, coaching and mentoring. Understanding of the PTW system, HAZOP/HAZID. Liaise between client, sub-contractors and project personnel. Dealings with Accident/Incident investigations and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Experience of working with multi-national contractors.

  • Confined Space preparation to make sure gas testing and emergency rescue plans are put in place
  • Weekly audits
  • Attend daily meetings with contractor and client management
  • Advise on the correct way to construct method statements and risk assessments
  • Make sure that policies, rules and regulations are complied with
  • Testing to make sure people were not under the influence of alcohol or drugs,
  • Prepare lifting plans and inspect lifting accessories slings & shackles
  • Conduct emergency drills and carry out site inductions.

 

Education and Qualifications – 

Appointed Person (lifting operations) NVQ level 5 Diploma (CPCS)

Crane/Lift Supervisor (lifting operations) NVQ level 3 Diploma (CPCS)

CCNSG/ECITB Safety Passport

NEBOSH International Diploma (currently studying via eLearning).
