HSE People Panel – Scott Crichton – HSE in the Public Sector

The HSE People Panel is made up of specialists across different areas who have volunteered to share their insight and experience with the HSE People network.

Scott was first introduced to health and safety as part of his role within the military back in 2004.  His first full time role began in 2006 as a health and safety co-ordinator within the financial industry.  After seven years, he progressed to a regional role within the ambulance service, before obtaining his current Principal Consultant role with Ellis Whittam covering counties in South West England.  As a consultant, he finds himself working alongside various clients across a wide client base, including but not limited to education, engineering, health & social care, manufacturing, retail, pharmaceutical, small & medium contractors and town & parish councils.

He has been a Chartered member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health since 2015, a registered health and safety consultant and an Associate Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers.  He gained a Postgraduate Certificate in Safety & Risk Management from the University of Strathclyde in 2013 and holds various other business and safety qualifications.

Scott has previously been a NEBOSH examiner for certificate level qualifications, is the Chair of Governors at an infant school and is separately an Associate Governor of a Community Federation comprising of two primary schools.

Scott is keen to network, mentor and share his ideas with other professionals.
