About the role:
Our Newport site based in Rogerstone is one of the largest and most advanced food manufacturing facilities in Europe, with over 1500 employees, turning over £140 Million per year.  This is a fantastic opportunity for a HSE Controller to join this highly successful site.

We will be our resident IOSH accredited Trainer (which we will pay for you to complete the course) where you will deliver on site training every other month.

The role will involve you supporting the Safety Health & Environmental lead through the co-ordination, administration and development of the Health, Safety & Environment function.   This role is a perfect stepping stone for someone wanting to progress their career as its sits in between a coordinator and a Manager.  Ideally looking for someone with Environment legislation under their belt to assist and grow that area for the site.  We do need someone very much able to stand on their own feet and be able to hit the ground running.
You will collate monthly information and statistics relating to accident data, investigation reports, audits, none conformances and ongoing safety improvement projects.

About you:

  • NEBOSH / H&S Certificate
  • Ideally food background/FMCG background
  • Ability to review safe working procedures and risk assessments
  • High level of competence in Microsoft Office (Excel, word and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to collate, interpret and analyse data
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and present
  • Flexibility for occasional night work
