Our new approach to safety, health and environment management and our ambitious plans for the future, make this an exciting time to join the UCLan SHE Department. We are seeking dynamic forward thinking individuals, with a proven ability to influence and succeed within a complex and fast paced environment.

We are seeking an individual with significant safety, health and environment experience to support the work of the Health and Safety Department in the role of one of the Lead Safety, Health and Environment Advisers reporting to the SHE Manager. The successful candidate will:

  • Provide comprehensive advice and support in the maintenance and improvement of SHE compliance across the University.
  • Have experience of developing, implementing and maintaining an integrated management system for Occupational Safety, Health and Environment and certification standards such as ISO14001 and 18001.
  • Play an important role assisting the SHE Department in promoting health and safety culture across the University with a strong emphasis on coaching and training.
  • Manage a small team within the SHE Department.

Significant experience of working in the field of safety, health and environment is essential. An ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and initiative is essential as is an ability to influence positively at all levels in the University as well as manage your own and others workloads to meet deadlines.

Educated to degree level coupled with a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and Chartered membership of IOSH, the successful applicant will also have a good working knowledge and application of Health & Safety legislation.
