Accountability and Objectives

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the overall sales effort and effectiveness of the sales team in order to achieve the objectives of the region.

The Sales Manager develops and maintains a high-performance culture within the sales team and is responsible for staff management functions. The Sales Manager pursues sales excellence, works to achieve shareholder/stakeholder benefit and to increase the long-term value of the business by maintaining individual and organisational performance. In addition, the Sales Manager assists the sales team in prospecting and securing large regional accounts.

The Regional Sales Manager will report to the VP of Sales, Safety Division and will have decision-making authority within an established framework. They will form an integral part of a sales management team including the VP of Sales, National Account Manager, other Regional Sales Managers, and Business Development Managers.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Management

Responsible for managing, and coaching Territory Account Managers in the Region, through:

  • Training / Joint Calls
  • Regular territory reviews
  • Monthly schedules
  • Monthly reports
  • Ensure regular visits of key accounts with Territory Account Managers
  • Ensure accounts are managed in accordance with budget targets
  • Develop and implement growth strategies for the region
  • Ensure that the Territory Account Managers are maintaining an adequate sales funnel of target accounts
  • Create and track the sales process for each
  • Manage and drive sales through manufacturers agencies
  • Develop sales targets and key account responsibilities for each rep group
  • Continued evaluation of rep agency performance
  • Termination of rep groups if required

Maintain and develop corporate relationships with all regional key accounts

  • On a schedule
  • Create and track a development plan for each key account

Develop corporate relationships with prospective regional key accounts

  • Maintain an adequate sales funnel of prospective regional key accounts
  • Create and track a sales process for each

Organization and Planning

  • Participate in planning, revising, and implementing regional growth strategies
  • Develop new product regional launches with marketing
  • Coordinate regional promos, special pricing, and quote process
  • Ensure that the sales staff receives adequate/timely sales reports
  • Coordinate and participate in regional and some national trade show events with sales staff
  • Manage and monitor Account Managers expenses, as well as regional sales promotion expenses


  • Minimum 7 years of sales experience within the industrial and/or safety markets
  • Minimum 3 years of sales management experience within the industrial and/or safety markets
  • Familiarity with key accounts within the region
  • Travel requirement is between 8 – 12 business days per month
