A propane tank exploded in a New Mexico parking lot, injuring two people on September 17, as police officers ran towards a pickup fire.
Body camera footage shows the moment of the blast and officers helping two people, a 63-year-old man and 59-year-old woman, to safety.
Police said the cause of the fire was likely a generator in the bed of the pickup. “The couple was attempting to extinguish it when a propane tank, also in the bed of the pickup, exploded,” they reported.
Three horses and three dogs in a trailer behind the pickup were uninjured. The officer “helped extinguish flames to the woman’s clothing. No other injuries were reported,” police said. Credit: Las Cruces Police Department via Storyful
