There are five Award-level qualifications:

NEBOSH Health and Safety at Work Award
Provides a best practice introduction to workplace health, safety, and risk that is relevant to all industry sectors.

The course content is delivered in an understandable and accessible way and will help you to:

NEBOSH Environmental Awareness at Work                                                                                                Provides a useful introduction to environmental issues at work. It highlights the role workers can play in improving organisational environmental performance and will aid understanding of environmental impacts and risk control. It meets the training requirement for organisations implementing ISO 14001.

It is accessible to all. No prior knowledge is required, and the content is relevant wherever you work around the world. There is also the option to add content relevant to the environmental impacts and issues faced by a company or sector.

The qualification covers the following topics:

  • Basic environmental terms and their meaning
  • Sources, impacts and controls of air, water, noise and land pollution
  • Dealing with environmental emergencies
  • Introducing environmental impact (risk) assessments
  • Introduction to Environmental Management Systems

The qualification is an ideal first step towards progressing to the NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management, which provides a more extensive and practical understanding of environmental management in the workplace.

NEBOSH HSE Introduction to Incident Investigation                                                                                   NEBOSH and Great Britain’s Health and Safety Regulator, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), have jointly developed a one-day qualification that shows how non-complex incidents can be investigated effectively.

By learning lessons and making improvements, organisations can avoid similar incidents occurring in the future.

The qualification covers the following topics:

  • Moral, legal, and financial arguments for investigations
  • Human and organisational factors that can contribute to an incident
  • The process for investigating incidents
  • Positive interview strategies and the barriers to successful interviews

Attending the course will enable you to:

  • Independently investigate simple incidents
  • Gather evidence including conducting witness interviews
  • Produce an action plan to prevent a recurrence of an incident
  • Contribute to team investigations for large scale incidents
  • Positively impact the safety culture in your organisation

NEBOSH HSE Award in Managing Risks and Risk Assessment at Work                                                               The NEBOSH HSE Award in Managing Risks and Risk Assessment at Work is a one-day, introductory level qualification developed in collaboration with the health and safety regulator for Great Britain, the Health and Safety Executive. It is structured around the Health and Safety Executive’s approach to controlling the risks caused by workplace hazards.

Develop straightforward, practical health and safety risk management skills so you can go beyond risk assessments, to effectively control the health and safety risks caused by hazards in your workplace.

This qualification will help you to:

  • Develop straightforward practical skills to manage workplace risks; something all employers need
  • Build confidence in your risk assessment capabilities
  • Contribute to the creation of a safer and healthier workplace as soon as you return to work
