Meet a HSE People Champion – Scott Crichton

HSE People is proud to be working with a team of Champions to raise the profile of the HSE industry and to support our members. Today we speak with Scott Crichton, a Senior Risk Management Consultant for Endsleigh Insurance.

What is your job title, where do you work and what do you do?

I am a Senior Risk Management Consultant for Endsleigh Insurance.  I am responsible for building the risk management product for existing clients and prospects in the education and not for profit market.

How did you get started in HSE?

I got started in HSE in 2006 when I worked for a financial services company and the person who did look after HSE retired.  I was asked if I wanted to get involved, which I said yes and the rest as they say is history.

Why did you want to become an HSE People Champion?

I’ve been part of the HSE People Panel since February 2021.  I love supporting HSE People and our industry with my input on various areas and I am looking forward to bringing my voice as a People Champion in 2023 and beyond.

Who or what inspires you?

Entrepreneurs and creative thinkers inspire me – such as the likes of Richard Branson, Alan Sugar, Steve Jobs.  The inspire me as they were willing to take a risk and try something new.

What are you excited about for 2023?

I’m excited to build a risk management proposition from the ground level up.  I’m also excited for the new additions of HSE People Champions and how we can collaboratively bring fresh materials to our profession.

If you could have a superpower what would it be?

I would love to fly.  Iron man is my favourite superhero character and my favourite bird is a golden eagle.  The closest I have come to flying, is doing a 13,000 foot skydive in July 2022, what an awesome experience where I learned a lot about myself, fear and how we don’t have to be constrained by our own thoughts.

Describe yourself in three words.

Tenacious, hardworking and dedicated.

Thank you so much Scott for your time, we’re so happy to be working with you again.
